Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. The actress is an actor, singer and dancer. She started her Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. The Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside acclaimed actors and directors for stage productions and on television. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton directed the musical. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings during the Over an Century. For two seasons, she played a prominent role in the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford now splits the time in Los Angeles and New York.
