Jenna Fischer was best known for her role as Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. The role she played brought her an Emmy nomination for Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category. She also won two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by an ensemble comedy.
Born in Fort Wayne Indiana, she spent most of her childhood at St. Louis Missouri. Jenna was awed by her mother, Anne, perform in church plays when she was young that instilled a passion of theater and performance.
A trained theater actress, Fischer returned to her home base after finishing The Office. The Off-Broadway production Reasons to Be Happy was written and directed Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's new show Meteor Shower. It was an absurdist comedic piece opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer have launched Office Ladies, a podcast that airs on Earwolf on October 19, 2019. The podcast has proven to be hugely successful, reaching the Top Ten worldwide every week with more than 200 million downloads within the first two years. The podcast premiered in January of 2021. Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She's the author of The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide (coauthored by Angela Kinsey), in which her story of moving from St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is outlined. The Office BFF's : Tales of The Office by Two Best Friends that Were There is an account of Angela and herself and their friendship while working in The Office.
